New Online Classes
How are you? I hope you are well. It's a misty day here in northern England, the perfect weather to cosy up with some stitching. In this week's email I have news of new online classes and a new video up tonight on Youtube so please read on to find out more.
Last year I offered in person classes from my studio in Lancashire, England. Whilst I absolutely loved welcoming people in person and spending the day with them, it was difficult to fill the classes, probably because I am tucked away in a semi rural location quite far from the big cities such as London and Birmingham. Every time I put an email out about my classes, I received an overwhelming response from many of you, asking for online classes. Whilst I can't offer live classes over zoom, I can offer pre-recorded, on demand classes you can watch as many times as you like. I am also on hand to help over email, so you still get that personal touch.
First of all there's my online embroidery class. Perfect for beginners and packed full of information, this class will teach you the basics and also has a lovely selection of projects too, for when you are ready to put what you've learnt into practice. So far, there is the daisy chain pattern, something that can be used on a pillow case like I have, or it would make a lovely border design to hems of skirts or blouses. Then there is the cuckoo flower embroidery, a wildflower I love and picked with my son one summer, so it holds very special memories for me. Two more projects will be added later in the year, a vintage style floral hoop embroidery and a hanging heart design for stitching onto felt. This class will receive updates throughout the year too, with new stitches and techniques to be added. Each time something new is added you will receive an email letting you know.

Next there's my hexagon shopping bag online class. This one has a detailed video tutorial along with the pattern, to make a hexagon shaped shopping bag from hexagons. There is a choice of methods for stitching the hexagons, either by hand or machine, making this a flexible project. This bag would be lovely for taking to quilt shows later in the year, or for storing crochet or knitting projects! If you'd like to find out more, you can find the class here.

Finally there's the block of the month, which this year is spilt into two parts. Joining the block of the month really is like coming to a workshop because there are detailed videos released each month.
The first part is making the Wildflower Wall Hanging, a 33" x 38" hexagonal wall hanging made from embroidered jewels with a repeating flower design, surrounded by hexagons. The patterns and detailed video tutorials will be released each month and over the course of six months, you will create a beautiful heirloom piece to be proud of.

There are two ways to join in. First you can sign up for the patterns and detailed video lessons over on my brand new website. As well as the instructions and patterns, you get video tutorials to walk you through all of the embroidery stitches used, it really is like coming to a workshop, just in virtual form.
Alternatively you can join in by becoming a Patreon member on the jewel flower tier on Patreon As well as access to the block of the month, Patrons will also get 3 bonus, secret patterns at surprise times throughout the year. I am super excited about these as they are going to be so much fun- think whimsical, useful items! Patreon also has 3 years worth of content on there, a whole back catalogue of videos and numerous exclusive patterns, so you really get so much more when you become a member. You can choose to pay monthly or there is a discount if you sign up for a year.
The next online class coming up will be Mabel's Garden. This was my most popular in person class last year so I hope that by offering it as an online class, those of you who were not able to visit me here will be able to take it. There will also be a new batch of kits to go with it. Mabel's Garden kits and online class will launch in February and I will of course let you know here.
Last week on Youtube I shared a video all about how creating with our hands is so beneficial for our wellbeing. In an increasingly fast paced world, taking time to create feels more important than ever. If you haven't seen that video yet, do take a look.
Tonight's video (7pm UK time) is all about troubleshooting common EPP problems. I talk about a range of things that I read in questions and comments and offer tips and advice, so do look out for it, it promises to be a useful one!
Also, very important, I am slowly transferring everything from my old website, to my new one. The old one will eventually close. I will also be moving things from Payhip too. Very important - if you've purchased things like online classes and patterns from the Payhip site, you will still have access to them when you log in, so you don't need to worry at all. Thank you for reading this far! I hope you like the online classes and see something you'd like to join. The beauty of them being online is that you can work at your own pace and of course, I am always here to help.
Have a wonderful week,
