Sewing is good for the soul
My Story
My name is Emma Jones and I love sewing! I have been sewing since I was 5 years old and it has really become a way of life for me. I am most drawn to hand sewing and particularly love English paper piecing and embroidery. When I became a mum, I left my career as a primary school teacher behind to focus on taking care of my little boy. I decided to share what I was making over on Instagram and people’s interest in it grew. I have experienced how beneficial sewing can be for wellbeing and mental health and I want to encourage others to give it a go. Slowly, I gained confidence and started a small business in response to people’s requests for patterns of my designs.
A few years later I started my Youtube channel to spread the joy of sewing further and I also started a membership over on Patreon. Bit by bit my business has grown into what you see on this website today. There is an online shop where you can buy the tools and materials I love to use. I also sell kits of my designs. I have an area of my website dedicated to digital PDF patterns so you can get sewing straight away. I have also developed online workshops for many of my patterns, with my yearly block of the month programmes being really popular. My workshops feature step by step videos which detail each step and walk you through everything you need to know to make the project.
Making sure sewing is accessible to as many people as possible is really important to me. This is why I share an extensive selection of patterns here for free. Many of the free patterns come with Youtube videos to show you in even more detail how to complete the project. In addition to this, I share extra free content on my blog.
You can keep up to date with what I am doing by following me on Instagram, Youtube and by signing up to my weekly newsletter.
Thank you so much for stopping by, I hope I can inspire you to pick up a needle and thread and feel the benefits of sewing yourself.
